The Village of Park Park Police Department provides a variety of training for its officers.  Every officer must attend and graduate from a specific Police Academy1 training program in order to be sworn in and certified as a police office in Illinois.  Additionally, officers at the Village of Oak Park Police Department are given on-going training2 about issues that may arise in parks, including annual training on Park District Code3 and how to issue a citation for park violations as well as other topics such as the homeless and animal control.
